VAPING TRICKS AND TIPS
Vaping Tips and Tricks
Vaping can seem confusing and intimidating at first. Here are some simple tips to help you make the most of your vaping experience.
Find the Right Nicotine Strength
Vaping has been known to be one of the best ways to quit smoking and reduce your nicotine cravings over time.
Vaping has the unique ability to allow the user to select their concentration of nicotine they consume. Over time the user can systematically reduce the nicotine concentration of their e-liquid with the goal to wean themselves off nicotine altogether.
For heavier smokers who are switching to vaping, a higher level of nicotine is recommended. 5% nicotine salt concentrations are an excellent starting point to replicate the nicotine “buzz” and throat hit that smokers are familiar with. From there, the vaper can gradually reduce to 3% nicotine salt then 1.5% then eventually 0%. The time taken for this progression can vary from person to person and is often a reflection of the desire of the vaper to quit nicotine altogether.
If you are a light or social smoker, then selection pods with lower levels of nicotine is best. Starting with nicotine salt concentrations between 3.5% and 1.5% could be more advantageous due to the lower consumption of nicotine.
Know Your Pod Type
Some manufacturers produce pre-filled pods for closed systems only, and others offer both refillable and pre-filled pods. It is important to identify which type you are using, and remember: do not attempt to try to open and refill a closed system pod if you operate one.
Handling Leaky Pods
Under normal circumstances, pod vapes rarely leak. But what do you happen to experience leakage? Gently wipe off the e-liquid with a clean cloth or tissue and remove the pod. Wipe off any excess e-liquid from around the pod before reinserting it into the device.
To prevent any further leakage, firstly check that your device battery has sufficient charge. Next take a slow, light and steady puff . This will allow sufficient time for the coil to heat fully and turn the e-liquid into vapour.
Puffing aggressively on the mouthpiece pulls e-liquid too quickly from the pod and into the air path before the coil has had time to vapourize the e-liquid. In addition, when clicking the pod into the device, position your fingers on the outer edges of the mouthpiece. Don’t squeeze the sides of the pod when inserting it. Avoid biting, putting pressure or squeezing the pod when puffing as this may effect performance.
Minimize Heat Exposure
Do not leave your vape exposed to direct sunlight or extremes in temperature or humidity. Leaving your pod vape under the sun for too long or in your car on a hot day can cause the e-liquid to expand and escape through the mouth piece. All pod vape devices have in-built batteries. Leaving the devices in extreme temperatures or humidity can cause them to overheat and may result in battery failure or heat injury to the user. Look after your device as you would with your smart phone.
Charge Your Device with the Manufacturer’s Charger
Although it might be tempting to charge your vape with any charger you have laying around, it’s best to stick with your manufacturer’s charger that came with the device.. We do not recommend leaving your vape plugged in overnight - although extremely rare, this may damage the battery. Full charging normally takes 1 hour.
This tip is general common sense, but you may be surprised at how many people allow themselves to become dehydrated when vaping nicotine. If you vape, especially for long sessions, this can leave you feeling dehydrated. Vaping can absorb small amounts of water from your body, so it is important to keep your fluid intake levels up.
Purchase Equipment from Reputable Suppliers
Avoid buying vape systems or the pods themselves from anyone but trusted suppliers. With so many variations and varieties on the market, it may be tempting to purchase your next pod system or cartridge based on the cheapest price. Please note, not all e-liquids and pod manufacturers are created equal. We believe that when it comes to your health, do not risk compromising the quality of your vaping experience.
Many cheap options are ‘cheap’ because their manufacturers use substandard ingredients or neglect the safety features that reputable companies incorporate into their pod systems. Your health is important, so it’s always worth paying a little more knowing you have sourced your pods and e-liquids from a reputable supplier who you can trust.
